Bengaluru: A couple from Bengaluru grabbed eyeballs after they shared a video revealing their monthly expenditure. In the clip, the young couple stated that they spend Rs 6 lakh every month. Stunned netizens were quick to react to the post. Many stated that the couple’s monthly expense was their CTC.
Married couple, Prakriti Arora and Ashish Kumar, gave up their high-paying jobs to pursue content creation. 30-year-old Ashish, a graduate of IIT Roorkee, worked for a software company based in the US. “I began professionally pursuing content creation in April 2022, while Ashish recently quit his high-paying job as a software engineer earlier this year in February 2025 and joined me as a full-time travel content creator,” said Prakriti, according to HT.

In the video they shared on Instagram, the couple disclosed that they spent Rs 42,000 on rent, Rs 40,000 for their fitness and splurges around Rs 20,000 on groceries. Additionally, they spent a sum of Rs 13,000 on eating out and Rs 10,000 on house help and other utilities.
The couple also has a sum of Rs 15,000 set aside for miscellaneous expenses and Rs 1 lakh set aside for monthly expenses.
As travel influencers, the couple’s major expenditure is their trips. In August, they booked two domestic and international trips that cost them Rs 3.5 lakh. Their August expenditure amounted to approximately Rs 6 lakh.
The revelation stunned the internet. Netizens trolled the couple and passed sarcastic comments. “Their 1 month expense = our 1 year income,” wrote one. Another commented, “I know these guys, they are ones asking for that ‘Is 50 LPA enough to survive in Bangalore’.”
Some criticised the couple. “There is a very big difference between being rich and looking rich. These guys are the second type. And this is not financial management but the worst kind of financial mismanagement,” commented a user.
Meanwhile, many appreciated the couple’s transparency and lauded them in the comments.
