The couple had travelled to the Himalayan country on August 20 with a Bangladeshi film’s production team. Amid growing concern among fans and media, their son Tamaghna Mukherjee shared an update on Thursday, revealing that he had spoken to both his parents. He confirmed that they were out of danger and explained that their return flight from Pokhara had been delayed. Tamaghna also shared details about their current location and revealed when the couple is expected to return to Kolkata.

Kharaj Mukherjee and his wife Protiva Mukherjee travelled to Nepal on August 20 as part of a shooting schedule for a Bangladeshi film. However, the couple’s plans were disrupted after flash floods caused widespread devastation in parts of the country.
Their son, Tamaghna Mukherjee, took to Facebook on Thursday to address the concern surrounding his parents. He said he had spoken to them in the morning and confirmed that they were safe. “Both of them were in Nepal for their shooting. Many messages from fans and media have reached me about how they are doing. I want to tell everyone that both my mother and father are out of danger,” he said. Tamaghna also explained that his parents were staying in Pokhara and were not close to the area where the major tragedy took place.

Kharaj Mukherjee’s son reveals parents travel plans
The actor and his wife were initially scheduled to return on August 23. However, the floods affected the shoot as well as their travel arrangements, resulting in a delay.
“They were supposed to return on August 23, but because the shoot was disrupted, they were not able to do so,” Tamaghna said, adding that the couple remained safe despite the situation. He further shared that his parents were travelling towards Gorakhpur from Pokhara. They are expected to board a flight from Gorakhpur and reach Kolkata on August 28. “As far as I know, they are now coming to Gorakhpur from Pokhara. They will take a flight from there and return to Kolkata tomorrow, on the 28th,” he said.

The couple’s trip came amid severe flash floods that have caused significant destruction and loss of life across the Himalayan country. According to PTI, the death toll climbed to 177, while thousands of people were reported missing.
