Before the elections in Bangladesh, Yunus government was shocked by this step of India, said- ‘We cannot do anything’ – News Himachali News Himachali

India has called back the families of its diplomats from Bangladesh, due to which the Yunus government is now feeling nervous. This step of India has been taken keeping security in mind before the elections.

Now Mohammad Tauheed Hussain, Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh has reacted regarding this. Hussain said there was no concrete reason to recall the families of Indian diplomats from Bangladesh. He said there is no security situation in the country that poses any threat to Indian diplomats or their families.

What did Mohammad Tauheed Hussain say?

“There is no situation in Bangladesh to indicate that there is any threat to Indian officials or their families,” Mohammad Tauheed Hussain said during a press conference at the Ministry of External Affairs. Describing this move as an internal matter of India, he said that India can recall its officers or their families at any time, but there is no clear security reason behind it.

‘We can’t do anything about it’

Hussain said that Bangladesh has not received any formal communication from India regarding security concerns. “It is possible that India has some apprehension or wants to send a message, but I am not able to see any clear reason behind it.” Hussain, who was previously the Deputy High Commissioner to India, clarified that if Indian diplomats want to send back their families, there will be no objection from Bangladesh’s side. “If they want to do that, there’s nothing we can do about it.”

India cited security concerns

Let us tell you that last week India had decided to recall the families of its officers posted there citing increasing violent activities and security concerns in Bangladesh. This step has been taken just a few weeks before the general elections to be held on February 12. India has declared Bangladesh as non-family posting for its diplomats. However, all five diplomatic missions (Khulna, Chattogram, Rajshahi and Sylhet), including the High Commission in Dhaka, are functioning normally.
