Before the assembly session, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accused Akhilesh Yadav of mafia connections. Gave information about strict action on codeine smuggling, outline of winter session and discussion on ‘Vande Mataram’.
Lucknow. Before the beginning of the winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday launched a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav. While talking to the media, the Chief Minister said that there is hardly any mafia in the state who does not have connections with the Samajwadi Party. Every citizen of the state knows this.
Initial evidence found of mafia’s links with SP: Chief Minister
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that preliminary investigation has revealed that many of the accused caught in the action of STF and Uttar Pradesh Police have links with the Samajwadi Party. He said that Samajwadi Party has already been infamous for its functioning and in this matter also its role will gradually be exposed.
Let the investigation be completed, milk will be milk and water will be water.
The Chief Minister clarified that the final report is yet to come, so it is too early to reach any conclusion at this time. But he said that the statements being given by the SP chief reflect the same situation as stated in this line-

The Chief Minister said that the truth of illegal transactions with the mafia with whom photographs are coming out will also come out in the investigation. He assured that the investigation will be fair and the truth will come out.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s clarification on codeine issue
On the codeine phosphate issue, the Chief Minister said that it is a drug covered under the NDPS Act, which is used in the manufacturing of codeine-containing cough syrup. This syrup is used in the treatment of severe cough. The quota and allocation of codeine is given by the Central Narcotics Bureau only to authorized pharmaceutical companies.
Strict action on misuse of cough syrup as an addiction
The Chief Minister said that at many places this cough syrup was being misused as a narcotic substance. After receiving complaints of illegal smuggling, the Uttar Pradesh government took strict action. UP Police and Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) considered it under the NDPS Act and initiated action.
Joint action of STF, UP Police and FSDA
The Chief Minister said that UP Police, STF and FSDA are taking action together in this entire matter. Till now, large scale illegal trafficking cases have been exposed and many arrests have been made. This entire episode is being monitored by the state-level SIT, which includes senior officials of UP Police and FSDA.
Money related to illegal smuggling will also be investigated
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the SIT is also investigating where the money earned from illegal smuggling went. The layers of the entire network will be exposed and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Winter session of Uttar Pradesh Assembly will continue till December 24
The Chief Minister informed that the winter session will start from Friday and continue till December 24. He welcomed all the honorable members coming to participate in the session. During this, issues related to public interest, legislative work related to development and supplementary demands of various departments will be considered.
Special discussion on completion of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’
The Chief Minister said that in this session there will be a special discussion on the occasion of completion of 150 years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’. The contribution of its creator Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay will be remembered. He said that the date of establishment of Uttar Pradesh and the date of constitutional recognition of ‘Vande Mataram’ are the same, which makes this discussion even more important.
Limited proceedings on first day due to condolence motion
The Chief Minister said that due to the sudden demise of a sitting member of the Assembly, a condolence motion will be tabled in the House. Because of this, no other legislative action will probably be taken on the first day. However, if any issue arises in the Legislative Council, the government will respond to it.
Government fully ready to discuss all issues
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the government has made it clear in the all-party meeting that it is ready to discuss all issues. The government has a positive outlook on development related issues and expects cooperation from all parties for the smooth conduct of the session.
Legislature plays an important role in strengthening democracy
The Chief Minister said that the largest legislature of the country is continuously moving in the right direction. When the sacred platforms of democracy like the Legislative Assembly become centers of discussion and dialogue, then the public representative lives up to the trust of the public.
Session of limited duration due to voter list revision
The Chief Minister said that the government wanted the session to last for more days, but most of the public representatives were busy in the special revision program of the voter list. This is necessary for the transparency and purity of democracy. For this reason the duration of the session has been fixed till December 24. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that this session will prove important for the development of Uttar Pradesh.
