Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with officials through video conferencing on Friday evening regarding the disturbance in the city. He expressed displeasure over no action being taken against those who conspired to create violence.

Instructions were given to take strict action against the miscreants, after which the officers came into action. After filing FIR in different police stations in the night itself, Maulana Tauqeer Raza was sent to jail in the early hours of Saturday.

A mob gathered on the appeal of Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC) chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza created a disturbance in the city on Friday. In view of the tense situation, the police administration was already alert. People were appealed not to hold any kind of demonstration, but the miscreants did not agree.

When the police tried to stop the crowd at Khalil Square and Novelty Square near Islamia Ground, they pelted stones at the police. Then the police chased the people away by lathi charge and tear gas shells. On the other hand, the crowd opened fire at Shyamganj intersection.

Every moment information was being taken from the government. In the evening itself, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with police and administration officials through video conferencing. When he asked about action being taken against those who conspired to create violence, the officers could not speak clearly.

The Chief Minister got angry on this. He said in a stern tone, what are you waiting for to take action against the miscreants. Strict action should be taken immediately against the miscreants, no one should be spared. Financial injury should also be inflicted on the miscreants.

The Chief Minister also directed to mark the properties of the miscreants and take strict action. After this, the police filed FIR in five police stations of the city in the night itself. IMC chief Maulana Tauqeer was also named in seven cases.

Maulana Taukir was arrested in the night itself and was given medical treatment in the district hospital at 5.30 in the morning. After this, he was produced in the court of Remand Magistrate Ankita Dhama and sent to jail. According to sources, marking of properties of those accused of disturbance has also been started. The possibility of major action being taken soon is being expressed.
