BCCI suddenly changed the schedule of IPL 2026, big announcement on the date and venue of these 2 matches

IPL 2026 season has started and more than 20 matches have been played in the tournament. The entire schedule of the tournament has already been announced. But after more than 2 weeks, BCCI has suddenly made an important change in its schedule. This has been done regarding two matches of the tournament, whose date and venue have been swapped. This decision has been taken regarding both the matches played between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.

These changes happened in CSK-GT matches

These major changes have been revealed by BCCI in a press release on 13 April. in this season gujarat titans And 2 matches are to be played between Chennai Super Kings. According to the schedule released initially, the first match between the two teams was to be played on April 26 at 3.30 pm at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. But now this match will be played at the same time and date at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai instead of Ahmedabad.

Similarly, the reverse fixture between the two was to be played in Chennai on May 21. This match was to be played at 7.30 pm but now instead of Chidambaram Stadium, this match will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium on the same date. That means there has been no change in the date and time of the matches. Only the venue has been changed.

Because of this the venue had to be changed

The reason for this decision of BCCI is elections. Actually, these days assembly elections are being held in 5 states but apart from these, municipal elections are to be held in many parts of Gujarat including Ahmedabad on 26th April. Due to this, organizing the match in Ahmedabad on 26th April would have proved difficult from security point of view. Keeping this in view, the board has made this change.

How was the performance of GT-CSK?

Talking about the performance so far, the beginning of the season has not been very good for both the teams. Chennai Super Kings had to face defeat in 3 consecutive matches. After that, Rituraj Gaikwad’s team’s account opened in the fourth match. Gujarat Titans also lost the first two matches under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, but after this, this team seems to be gaining momentum by winning the next two matches.
