New Delhi: Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the wicket-keeping duties in the ongoing fourth Test against England at Old Trafford in Manchester. He suffered a toe injury while playing a reverse sweep against Chris Woakes on the opening day of the match, but will be “available to bat as per team requirements” during the crucial match.
He got retired hurt while batting on 37 and was taken to the hospital for scans. According to earlier reports, Pant was ruled out of the series due to a toe fracture and has been advised to take rest for at least six weeks. However, the BCCI contradicted injury reports and stated on X that he will not perform the wicket-keeping duties but will be available to bat.
