The hopes of the comeback of Mohammad Rizwan, who is out of Pakistan’s T20 team, are continuously diminishing. Rizwan was already out of the T20 World Cup 2026, but he is failing in his efforts to prove himself again in this format. Rizwan, who is playing in Australia’s Big Bash League for the first time, is continuously flopping. Now he has been openly insulted in this league because due to playing very slowly, he was called back by the captain of Melbourne Renegades and thus he became the first foreign player to be retired out in BBL.

In the BBL 15 season, Melbourne Renegades included Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman Rizwan in their squad with great expectations. But they have not been able to live up to the expectations at all and are continuously failing. Rizwan, who has failed to score even a single half-century in the season so far, is facing more criticism due to his slow batting. Due to the same batting in every match, perhaps the patience of Melbourne Renegades finally broke.

In the match against Sydney Thunder on Monday 12 January, Renegades batted first and the team scored 83 runs in 9 overs. Here Rizwan entered at number four and then remained at the crease till the 18th over. During this, Rizwan faced 23 balls but only 26 runs came from his bat, which included 2 fours and 1 six. The team’s score had reached only 154 runs and in order to score maximum runs in the last two overs, captain Will Sutherland took a decision which Rizwan would not have expected even in his dreams.

Sutherland got up straight from the dugout and immediately asked Rizwan to come out as soon as the 18th over was over. Rizwan did not understand initially but when Sutherland signaled to come out 3-4 times, Rizwan realized that he was being retired. With embarrassment Rizwan started returning towards the pavilion. In this innings, he could bat only at a strike rate of 113.
