New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a man lost his life on the cricket pitch after suffering a heart attack while batting. A video of the tragic incident has gone viral on social media, where the man can be seen collapsing on the ground after hitting a six during the match. The clip has sparked concerns regarding young people suffering heart attacks regularly despite facing no major health issues.

As per reports, the video is from Punjab’s Firozpur, where the man identified as Harjeet Singh was playing cricket with his friends at the DAV School ground. The video begins with the man preparing to face a delivery from the bowler. He hits the ball for a six and walks to the middle of the pitch to meet his batting partner after completing his shot.

The batter can be seen going down on his knees before collapsing as his batting partner calls for help. Seeing him getting unconscious, the other teammates rushed to his help, however, the batter reportedly died on the spot due to a heart attack. The tragic video has left social media in shock.

Cases of heart attacks increasing in India

Incidents of people dying due to heart attacks have increased rapidly across the country over the last few years. There have also been cases of people in their 20s dying while dancing or playing sports. Such cases have highlighted the need to get regular health check-ups and seek a qualified doctor’s help in monitoring heart issues among people of all age groups.

The cases also reflect on the poor eating habits among the general public. Earlier, a similar incident occurred in Mumbai in June last year, where a 42-year-old man lost his life after suffering a heart attack while playing cricket. The victim, Ram Ganesh Tewar, collapsed on the ground after hitting a six during the match and was declared dead on arrival when taken to the hospital.
