Bastar Vikas 2025: Bastar has now become a new hub of development and investment. ₹ 52,000 crore investment, rail-road projects, industry, health, tourism and MSME are becoming Bastar’s Economic and Social Change Center.

Raipur, 11 September 2025. Bastar has become a symbol of India today. The area which once struggled with neglect and lack, is now becoming a new center of investment, opportunity and employment. Here the echo of development is heard in all areas like industry, education, health, agriculture and tourism. This change is not only changing the picture of Bastar but also making the path of the bright future of the whole of Chhattisgarh.

Rail-road projects: new speed of development

The government has approved railway projects worth ₹ 5,200 crore for the development of Bastar.

  • Rawaghat-Jagdalpur new railway line-₹ 3,513.11 crore
  • Doubling of KK Rail Line (Kottavalasa-Kirandul)

These projects will make tourism, trade and travel easier and bring new opportunities for employment and industry for the youth. Better rail connectivity will also strengthen the eradication of Naxalism and Bastar will become a reliable investment center.

Apart from this, road projects worth ₹ 2,300 crore have also been approved. The new alternative route of Dhamtari -Kanker -Kondagaon -Jagdalpur road will be built to Dantewada and Bijapur via Abujhmad. With this, the districts will be more easily connected and the reach of education, health and safety services will be better.

Large public investment: strong infrastructure

  • NMDC: ₹ 43,000 crore investment
  • Super Specialty Hospital: ₹ 200 Crore Investment

These investment are strengthening the infrastructure of Bastar and making the region the center of industry and services.

Private investment and development of msme

Along with large public investment, private investment of ₹ 1,000 crore is also being made in Bastar. This includes the service sector and MSME (MSME). Overall, an investment commitment of ₹ 52,000 crore has been revealed so far, which is a major possibility of employment and socio-economic change.

Revolution in health sector

For the first time, private health facilities are expanding in Bastar.

  • 350 bed multi-specialty hospital and medical college in Jagdalpur- ₹ 550 crore investment, 200 employment opportunities
  • Another multi-specialty hospital- ₹ 33 crore investment
  • 200 bed hospitals of Navbharat Institute of Medical Sciences- ₹ 85 crore investment

These hospitals will give new heights to modern health services and medical education and will also provide employment to the youth.

Agriculture and food processing

Rice mills and food processing units are being established in Bijapur, Narayanpur, Bastar and Kondagaon. Parshwa Agritech in Narayanpur will produce 2,400 tonnes of perblel rice every year (₹ 8 crore investment). This will provide better prices to the farmers and will get employment to the local youth.

Wellness and tourism industry

  • Naman Club and Wellness Center, Jagdalpur: ₹ 7.65 crore investment, 30 jobs
  • AS Builders and Traders & Celebration Resorts and Hotels: Investment in Tourism and Hospitality Sector

It will bring the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Bastar to the global stage.

Dairy and agro -based industries

Bastar Dairy Form Pvt. Ltd.: ₹ 5.62 crore investment. This will promote milk production and processing and will increase the income of farmers.

Construction, industry and warehousing

  • Brick and Stone Crusher Units: PS BRICS and Mahavir Mines and Minerals
  • Warehouse and Cold Storage: Kanker, Bhanupratappur and Kondagaon
  • Danteshwari cold storage: Help in keeping farmers’ produce and reducing wastage

Wood, furniture and machinery

  • Maa Danteshwari Veniers and Ali Furniture: Will connect traditional workmanship to modern markets.
  • Shankara Latex Industries: ₹ 40 crore investment, surgical gloves manufacture, 150 employment opportunities

PMFME and PMEGP schemes

Under the PMFME scheme, a total assistance of ₹ 49.50 lakh was given to entrepreneurs in Kanker, Bastar and Kondagaon. Various entrepreneurs got a grant of ₹ 94.50 lakh from the PMEGP scheme. These schemes are promoting local entrepreneurship and employment.

Industrial Policy and New Opportunities

  • Approval of ₹ 90 lakh for warehouse in Kanker
  • Cement plant, machine and fabrication shops, pump repair units near the steel plant
  • Pig iron, TMT bar, angle/channel, wire rod and bright bar production associated with iron and steel

100+ visits by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai: Faith and Development

In the last 20 months, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has visited more than 100 places in Bastar.

  • The facilities of road, education, health and communication reached remote areas with “Nayed Nella Nella Nar Yojana”.
  • So far 54 security camps, 635 mobile towers, 21 roads, 9 sub-health centers have been set up.
  • For the first time in 28 villages, banks opened and 50+ closed schools started again.

New rehabilitation policy: new path for surrendered Naxalites

  • ₹ 10,000 monthly aid for 3 years
  • Plot in urban areas or 1 hectare land in rural areas
  • Vocational training and full prize money
  • Double reward on collective surrender
  • Schemes worth ₹ 1 crore for Naxal-free villages

Modi’s guarantee: Tendu leaf collectors benefit

The state government has increased the purchase rate of tendu leaf from ₹ 4,000 to ₹ 5,500 per sack. This will directly benefit 52 lakh collectors (13 lakh families) of Bastar.

Skill development and opportunity to youth

  • 90,273 youth training
  • Of these, 39,137 youth got employment
  • In 2024–25, 3,296 youth are being trained in IT, automobile, construction and solar energy sectors.

Success in eradication of Naxalite

  • From December 2023 till now: 453 Naxalites killed, 1,611 arrested, 1,636 surrender
  • 65+ new security camps set up
  • Road, bridge and mobile network further strengthened this campaign.
  • Target: Full elimination of Naxalism by March 2026.

Chhattisgarh Industrial Policy 2024–30

The new policy has made Bastar a hub of investment and innovation.

  • Special incentive to projects with more than 1000 crore investment or 1000+ employment
  • Priority Sector-Pharma, Agro-Processing, Textiles, IT, Digital Tech, Electronics, Aerospace-Defense
  • Industry status to tourism – subsidy up to 45%
  • Additional 10% subsidy to SC/ST entrepreneurs and Naxalite affected families
  • 40% salary subsidy to units providing employment to surrendered Naxalites (up to 5 lakh per year, 5 years)

The investment of around ₹ 52,000 crore, new industrial policy, better connectivity and success of Naxalite abolition have made Bastar a symbol of prosperity, security and inclusive development. Now Bastar is becoming a “new destination of investment and opportunity” not only Chhattisgarh, but for the whole country.
