FC Barcelona have declined Paris Saint-Germain’s initial offer of €40 million for Spanish midfielder Ferran Torres, according to reports citing Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
The offer was received by Barcelona last Monday but was considered significantly below the club’s valuation of the player.
PSG have submitted a fixed-fee proposal of €40 million for Torres, who has agreed personal terms with the French club and is keen to finalise the transfer promptly. Nevertheless, Barcelona demand a substantially higher fee before consenting to the departure of the 26-year-old international.
Barcelona’s position is influenced by Torres’s key contributions in Spain’s 2026 World Cup victory and his broader value within European football. The club places importance on his international experience, age, and recent performances, factors that they believe justify a higher price.
Further negotiations are anticipated in the coming days as both clubs seek to reach an agreement. PSG aims to strengthen their squad with experienced players ahead of the new season.
