Bangladesh realized its mistake! Took this step to improve relations with BCCI, big tournament at stake

A World Cup was lost. A series is in danger. There is also a tournament at stake. This is the story of Bangladesh cricket, for which the beginning of 2026 has not been good and there is a possibility of the end getting worse. To ensure that the end of the year is not bad and the future after that is also better, Bangladesh Cricket Board has now started trying to improve its relations with India. According to a report, BCB has written a letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) expressing its desire to improve relations again like before.

It has been revealed in a report that after the formation of the new government in the country, the Bangladeshi Board recently wrote a letter to BCCI. In this letter, the old cricket relations between India and Bangladesh have been mentioned and the wish has been expressed that the relations between the two boards should be like before. Quoting BCCI and BCB sources, it has been said that in this letter there has been talk of normalizing relations again.

The main reason for this changed attitude of Bangladesh is the upcoming important tournament and a series. Actually, an ODI and T20 series is scheduled between India and Bangladesh in September this year, for which Team India has to tour Bangladesh. This series was to be played last year but in view of the conditions in Bangladesh, it was decided to postpone it to September 2026. But then due to the controversy regarding IPL and T20 World Cup, this series is in danger.

Not only this series, but the Asia Cup to be held next year is also a big reason for this effort. Bangladesh has to host this tournament. In such a situation, if relations with BCCI do not improve, then Team India may refuse to go to Bangladesh for this tournament and it will have to be organized outside Bangladesh (and Pakistan). Now, if Team India does not go to Bangladesh for the bilateral series and Asia Cup, then it will cause a big loss to BCB and to avoid this, the board is expressing its desire to improve the situation.
