How rich is Tariq Rehman?
According to the election affidavit, Tariq Rehman has declared his annual income as Tk 6.76 lakh (approximately Rs 5 lakh). He told that this income comes from returns from shares, bonds and fixed deposits. His total bank deposits are around Tk 1.23 crore (about Rs 92 lakh). Of this, Tk 31.6 lakh is in savings accounts or cash, while the rest is kept in fixed deposits, including some in accounts linked to his daughter. In case of movable assets, he has stated the value of furniture to be less than Tk 2 lakh and the value of gold to be only Tk 2,950. Apart from this, he has more than two acres of land in Bogura, along with ancestral properties in Ghazipur and Cox’s Bazar.
