This population of Hindus is 7.96 percent of the population of Bangladesh. The share of Hindus in the population varies greatly across the eight divisions of Bangladesh. Hindus range from 3.94 percent in Mymensingh to 13.51 percent in Sylhet.
According to the information, in four out of 64 districts of Bangladesh, every fifth person is Hindu. According to the 2022 census, Hindu population was more than 15 percent in 13 districts. Whereas in 21 districts the Hindu population was more than 10 percent. Hindus are in majority in Gopalganj in Dhaka division, Moulvibazar in Sylhet division, Thakurgaon in Rangpur division and Khulna in Khulna division.
91.08 percent of Bangladesh’s population is Muslim.
There are 26.94 percent Hindus in Gopalganj district of Dhaka, 24.44 percent in Moulvibazar in Sylhet division, 22.11 percent in Thakurgaon in Rangapur division and 20.75 percent in Khulna in Khulna division. Whereas in Bangladesh, other minorities (Buddhists, Christians, etc.) together are less than one percent. Of the 165.16 million population of Bangladesh, 91.08 percent are Mulman.
