Two representatives of International Cricket Council (ICC) Imran Khawaja and Mubashir Usmani are currently present in Lahore. He is in discussion with the Pakistan Cricket Board so that the India-Pakistan match can be organized in the 2026 T20 World Cup. This meeting is being held on the invitation from PCB. Apart from this, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam Bulbul is also present in Lahore. He has met PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and is attending the ICC meeting. Because Bangladesh is also linked to this dispute.
Bangladesh were removed from the tournament after refusing to play matches in India due to security reasons and Scotland were included in their place. Only after which Pakistan had announced not to play the match against India. In such a situation, the arrival of BCB President in Pakistan is quite shocking. Because both the boards together can place some demands before the ICC in exchange for this match.
Will Bangladesh get benefit?
Actually, Pakistan had decided not to play the match against India only to show support for Bangladesh. In such a situation, the participation of Bangladesh Cricket Board in this meeting of Pakistan Cricket Board and ICC raises many questions. It is believed that if Pakistan agrees to play the match against India in this conversation, then Bangladesh Cricket Board can also get benefits like compensation for the loss incurred due to not participating in the tournament, higher share in ICC Central Revenue than before and then direct entry in the next T20 World Cup. However, all this is still speculation.
