Terming recent incidents targeting Hindus as worrying, India has warned that such violence cannot be ignored. On Friday, December 26, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, New Delhi has taken serious note of the developments taking place across the border. These attacks cannot be ignored under any circumstances. It is expected that the Bangladesh government will identify the culprits and give them strict punishment.

Continued hostility towards Hindus is a cause for concern

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Jaiswal said, “The continued hostility against minorities in Bangladesh is a matter of great concern. We condemn the recent murder of a Hindu youth in Bangladesh and hope that those guilty of the crime will be brought to justice.” The comments come a day after another Hindu man was lynched to death in Bangladesh.

Another Hindu brutally murdered in Rajbari, Bangladesh

According to reports, Amrit Mandal alias Samrat was beaten to death by a mob on charges of extortion in Pangsha sub district of Rajbari town, about 145 km west of Dhaka, on Wednesday. Police said Mandal was suspected to be the leader of a criminal gang involved in extortion and other illegal activities. On the day of the incident, he and some of his associates allegedly tried to extort money from a house in the village. After this the villagers beat him so much that he died in the hospital.

Police arrested a colleague of Mandal

Later, Amrit Mandal’s body was sent to Rajbari Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Most of his associates fled the area after the incident, but police said that one man has been arrested and weapons have been recovered from him. The investigators also revealed that there were at least two cases registered against Mandal, including a murder case.
