Bajpatti Assembly Election 2025: The electoral history of Bajpatti Assembly seat of Sitamarhi district of Bihar has always been very interesting. The competition here has been tough every time and voters have given unexpected results many times. In 2010 and 2015, JDU registered consecutive wins, but in 2020 the equations changed and RJD won a landslide victory. This is the reason why now the 2025 elections are being considered even more mysterious and exciting.

2010 elections-JDU’s first victory

In 2010, JDU candidate Dr. Ranju Geeta secured 44,726 votes and won. He defeated RJD candidate Mohammad Anwarul Haq, who received 41,306 votes.

  • Margin of victory – 3,420 votes.

Note: This victory was not by a huge margin, but it laid a strong foundation for JDU.

2015 elections-Ranju Geeta’s second consecutive victory

JDU won again in 2015. This time also Dr. Ranju Geeta was in the field. He got 67,194 votes. While his main rival Rekha Kumari (BLSP) got 50,248 votes.

  • Margin of victory – 16,946 votes.

Note: JDU got about 43.3% vote share in this election. The second consecutive victory proved that JDU’s dominance in Bajpatti was very strong at that time.

2020 elections- RJD’s great comeback

In 2020, Bajpatti Assembly made a big upset. This time RJD candidate Mukesh Kumar Yadav defeated veteran JDU leader Dr. Ranju Geeta.

  • Mukesh Yadav (RJD)-71,483 votes (40.21%)
  • Dr. Ranju Geeta (JDU)-68,779 votes
  • Margin of victory – 2,704 votes.

Note: This match was very close. The special thing is that after the long dominance of JDU, RJD made its inroads here and gained the support of Yadav community as well as minority voters.

Note: RJD leader Mukesh Kumar Yadav has two criminal cases registered against him. Mukesh Kumar Yadav, who has studied till graduation, has total movable and immovable assets of Rs 1.34 crore and a loan of Rs 1.63 lakh.

Changing vote share and the equation of 2025

  • In 2010 JDU got 38.52% votes.
  • In 2015, JDU’s vote share increased to 43.3%.
  • In 2020, RJD got 40.21% votes and JDU lagged behind.

Important thing: It is clear from these figures that the political balance in Bajpatti is changing. Now the question is whether RJD will register victory for the second consecutive time in 2025 or will JDU be able to make a comeback?
