‘Bahubali Brigade’ in Bihar: 11 out of 20 Bahubali became MLAs, know who won and who lost.

The dominance of musclemen continued in the Bihar Assembly elections 2025. Out of total 20, 11 Bahubali or his family members won. NDA achieved a big victory by giving tickets to such candidates. Now instead of the strongmen, their family members are handling the legacy.

The final results of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 have once again proved the deep penetration of musclemen in the politics of the state. A total of 20 strong candidates or their family members had tried their luck in this election, out of which 11 have won and secured entry into the Assembly. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) gave maximum support to this ‘Bahubali brigade’, and many established leaders also lost in their storm.

Strong victory of strongmen on NDA ticket

The strongmen and their families who contested the elections on NDA tickets performed brilliantly. NDA won on hot seats like Mokama, Kuchaikot and Navinagar.

  • Anant Singh (JDU) won the election from Mokama seat for the third time while being in jail. There are currently 30 criminal cases registered against him.
  • Amarendra Pandey (JDU) was the winner from Kuchayakot, against whom 14 cases are currently pending.
  • Manoranjan Singh ‘Dhumal’ (JDU) won the election from Ekma, currently there is no case in his name, whereas earlier there were more than 150 criminal cases.
  • Manora Devi (JDU) won from Belaganj and 3 cases are pending against her.
  • Vibha Devi (JDU) from Nawada, identified as Rajballabh Yadav’s wife, emerged the winner and has 3 cases against her.
  • Randhir Singh (JDU), son of Prabhunath Singh, was the winner from Manjhi and has 5 cases pending against him.
  • Chetan Anand (JDU), son of Anand Mohan, won from Nabinagar and has 2 cases against him.
  • Vishal Prashant (BJP), Sunil Pandey’s son, is the winner from Tarari and has 3 cases registered against him.
  • Rakesh Ranjan Ojha (BJP) from Shahpur, son of Visheshwar Ojha, won the election and has 3 cases against him.

Limited display of strongmen from Grand Alliance

  • The Grand Alliance also gave tickets to some powerful families, but their performance remained limited in the NDA storm. Former MP from Raghunathpur and son of late Bahubali Shahabuddin, Osama Shahab has won. A case is currently going on against him.
  • RJD’s Bogo Singh has won from Matihani, currently seven cases are registered against him.
  • Anita Devi, wife of Ashok Mahato, won from Warisaliganj on RJD ticket and 1 case is registered against her.

The strongmen got defeated

  • Ritlal Yadav (RJD) lost from Danapur, there are 16 cases against him. He lost the election to BJP’s Ramkripal Yadav.
  • Lallu Mukhiya (RJD) lost due to flood, against whom 15 cases are registered. He lost the election to Dr. Siyaram Singh.
  • Shivani Shukla (RJD), who is Munna Shukla’s daughter, lost the election from Lalganj. There is no case against him. She lost to the BJP candidate.
  • Hulas Pandey (LJP-RLSP) lost the election from Brahmapur, 1 case is registered against him. He lost to RJD candidate.
  • Vishwanath Yadav (RJD) also lost the election from Belaganj, there is 1 case against him. He lost the election to JDU’s Manorama Devi.

Mokama’s most dramatic result: ‘Small government’ wins from jail

In Mokama seat, Anant Singh (JDU) defeated his rival Veena Devi (RJD), wife of strongman Surajbhan Singh, by a margin of over 28,000 votes. This is the third consecutive time that Anant Singh has won the election while in jail. His victory has proved that his emotional connect with the people in Mokama is still unbreakable.

This election has made it clear that the influence of the strongmen has not diminished in the politics of Bihar, but now instead of the strongmen directly, their educated sons (Osama Shahab, Chetan Anand, Vishal Prashant) and wives are handling the electoral legacy. NDA took the initiative in giving tickets to these candidates and as a result they got a big victory.
