Bagheera Box Office Day 3: The Kannada movie hit the big screens on October 31, coinciding with the Diwali holiday. The film features Sriimurali and Rukmini Vasanth and is helmed by Dr Suri.
Despite a festive release, the film has not been able to pull the audience to houseful theatres. The film was released alongside other regional releases like KA, Lucky Bhaskhar and Amaran, but this is the sole Kannada movie.
Bagheera registers slow growth at the box office
On the opening day, the movie earned ₹2.80 crore, per Sacnilk. Bagheera had an overall 43.29 per cent Kannada occupancy with a maximum reported in Mysuru (64.75 per cent). Besides Kannada, the action thriller was released in theatres in four other languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. On day 2, the movie raked in ₹ 3.3 Crore.
A poster of Bagheera | Image: IMDbAs per early estimates by Sacnilk, Bagheera has minted ₹ 3.5 Cr on day 3. The movie has amassed a total of ₹ 9.85 Cr at the domestic box office. While Bagheera has registered some growth, its box office performance remains sub-par, at the least.
Bagheera likely to become the first Kannada movie to stream on Netflix
Besides the theatrical business, a big part of a movie’s total business comes from OTT deals and partnerships. In a historic move for Sandalwood, reports suggest that Bagheera might be the first Kannada film to be backed by Netflix. The OTT giant is yet to confirm the reports, but a post on X (previously Twitter) has hinted towards the same.
