Dhirendra shastri controversy: Ravikant, a senior professor at Lucknow University, Uttar Pradesh, has once again been engulfed in controversies. This time the matter is directly related to religious faith. A case has been registered against the professor at Bamitha police station in Chhatarpur district. It is alleged that he crossed the social media platform ‘X’ (earlier Twitter) in the comments made on Bageshwar Dham’s Peethadhishwar Dhirendra Shastri.

According to a complaint by Bageshwar Dham Committee member Dhirendra Kumar Gaur, Professor Ravikant, while sharing a viral video on social media, described Baba of Bageshwar Dham as a ‘women smuggler’. The comment was made when an ambulance was stopped by the Chhatarpur police in which some women were found in suspicious circumstances. It was said that these women were living in the Bageshwar Dham campus by hiding their identity.

Posting in this context, the professor wrote, “The younger brother Dhirendra Shastri, announced by Non Biological Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is smuggling women under the guise of religion.” This post spread rapidly on social media and became the root of controversy.
The matter of hurting religious sentiments, which laws should be imposed?
According to complainant Gaur, this post not only tarnished the image of Baba Dhirendra Shastri, but also hurt religious sentiments of followers of Hinduism. On this basis, a case has been registered against Professor Ravikant at Bamitha police station under Section 353 (2) of the Indian Justice Code (2). This stream applies in matters related to hurting religious sentiments.
Baba Dhirendra Shastri’s answer: “We are not going to retreat”
Baba Dhirendra Shastri has termed the entire controversy as a conspiracy. He released a video and said: “These nuisance people try to divide Sanatan. We have worked to connect society, then some people are upset. But as long as there is life, we will continue to serve Hinduism and India.” He also added that this is only the beginning, such allegations may increase further as some people are “restless” by the announcement of a big padyatra to be held from November 7 to 16.

There is no official response from Professor Ravikant in this case so far. At the same time, the Lucknow University administration has not yet made any public statement on this subject, but according to sources, the matter is being monitored at the university level.
