Badshah bows to backlash over his new song Tateeree – ‘Never meant to hurt Haryana’s sentiments’

New Delhi: Singer-rapper Badshah finds himself in hot water over his new Haryanvi song. Fans loved it at first, but now Haryana police are furious, filing an FIR and even planning a look-out circular. What went wrong with the catchy beats and bold lyrics?

As backlash grows, Badshah steps up—will his sorry note calm the storm? The controversy explodes just as his track goes viral, testing the star’s connection to his roots.

Badshah apologised for his newly released Haryanvi song

In a bold move, Badshah has come forward to apologise amid the growing row over his newly released Haryanvi song. With an FIR already registered in Haryana and police preparing a look-out circular, the singer-rapper shared a video on Instagram to clear the air and end the dispute.

In the video, Badshah explained his intent, saying, “vo hamisha apne sangeet ke jariye logon ko entertain karne ki koshish karte hain” (he always tries to entertain people through his music). He added that fans’ love and support are his biggest strength, promising, “vo aage bhi zimmedaari ke saath kaam karte rahenge” (he will continue working responsibly in the future).

Emphasising his roots, Badshah stated he is from Haryana and understands its culture well. “Unka maksad kisi ki bhaavnaon ko thes pahunchaana nahi tha” (his aim was never to hurt anyone’s feelings), he clarified. The song was made purely for entertainment, but if it offended anyone, “vo uski bhaavnaon ka sammaan karte hain” (he respects those feelings).

Badshah also reassured fans, saying, “vo apne darshakon aur fans ka sammaan karte hain aur kisi bhi tarah ke galat sandesh ko badhaava dena unki mansha nahi hai” (he respects his audience and fans, and promoting any wrong message was never his intention).

The controversy highlights the fine line artists walk between fun and cultural sensitivity in regional music. Badshah’s quick apology shows his effort to mend ties with Haryana’s proud people. As police actions loom, fans await whether this will fully resolve the issue.
