The 2025 Badminton World Championship will kickstart on Monday (August 25) with the competition set to take place till Sunday (August 31) at the Adidas Arena in Paris as the world’s finest players assemble in hopes of securing ultimate glory.
For Indian shutters, it provides a chance to redeem themselves after a nightmare showing in the same city last year during the 2024 Olympics. India returned home from the Paris Games without a medal, the first such instance since 2008 in Badminton.
A total of 13 Indian players are taking part in the event, with a chance of winning nine medals, with three players in singles and two pairs each in men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles.
Over the years, India has won 14 medals in the tournament with one gold, four silver, and nine bronze medals.
