Baaghi 4: Will Tiger Shroff reclaim his box office crown this Friday? Trade analysts reveal | EXCLUSIVE

New Delhi: The release of Baaghi 4 this Friday (September 5) is being seen as a crucial turning point in Tiger Shroff’s career. Once hailed as Bollywood’s next big action star, the actor has struggled to maintain consistent box office success in recent years.

Several of his recent films, including Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Ganpath and Heropanti 2, failed to create an impact at the ticket counters despite their high budgets and elaborate promotions. Industry experts now believe the pressure of the Baaghi franchise rests heavily on Tiger’s shoulders.

Baaghi 4’s box office prediction

In an exclusive interview, trade analyst Taran Adarsh stressed the importance of the upcoming release, pointing out that even an actor’s star power can be questioned if their projects fail to register strong openings. “It is a very important film for Tiger as his last few films didn’t work, especially Ganpath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Forget not working, if your films don’t take a good opening your stardom is questioned,” he explained.

Taran, however, sounded cautiously optimistic. “From the looks of it the advance booking is quite good. Hopefully it should open well, and later it depends on the word of mouth. Because it’s a franchise it needs to deliver. It is an expensive film. He has gone all out to do the kind of action he has done in the film. It is definitely an acid test for him,” he added.

While Tiger continues to remain a popular face for endorsements and enjoys a strong social media following, the commercial fate of his films has been inconsistent. Trade analyst Girish Wankhede believes the actor’s career has reached a delicate inflection point. “His athleticism and commitment to stunt work is unquestionable but all that has not translated into steady box office authority,” he observed.

Girish also highlighted a pattern of underperforming films. “A succession of underperformers like Munna Michael, Flying Jatt, Heropanti, Baaghi 3 and big-budget films like Ganpath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which co-starred Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, failed miserably at the box office with War being the only exception,” he said.

He further added that a hit could redefine Tiger’s image in the industry. “A success would definitely re-calibrate the perspective of Tiger Shroff just being a poster boy and action boy into a dependable box office star. Therefore Baaghi 4 is going to be a make-or-break moment for him.”
