Mumbai, November 3: Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, known for his unconventional film choices, recently spoke about his career trajectory since his 2012 debut with “Vicky Donor.
” Over the past 14 years, Ayushmann has consistently opted for roles that challenge traditional Hindi cinema narratives, including films like “Dum Laga Ke Haisha,” “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan,” “Andhadhun,” “Article 15,” and “Dream Girl.”
In a recent statement, Ayushmann emphasized his philosophy of “walking the road less travelled.” He noted, “From ‘Vicky Donor’ to ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan,’ ‘Dream Girl,’ and ‘Andhadhun,’ my choices reflect this. I aim to explore content-forward stories that break away from the expected.” He attributes his confidence in taking risks to the audience’s trust, which allows him to experiment and move across diverse genres.
Ayushmann believes that audiences are always open to new and different stories, provided they are entertaining and relatable. “The continued appreciation for films like ‘Udta Teer’ shows that people embrace fresh perspectives and unusual premises,” he added. He expressed gratitude to the directors, writers, and teams who have trusted him with such narratives, as well as to the audience for proving that unconventional stories can thrive in mainstream entertainment.
