‘Thama’ registered the biggest opening among MHCU (Maddock Horror Comedy Universe) films — Stree, Bhediya and Munja — by earning a whopping ₹25.11 crore nett on the first day of its release. The film has so far collected ₹58.79 crore (net) and has become the biggest opening film of Ayushmann’s career.

Ayushmann shared some pictures and videos with his family and actor Paresh Rawal on Instagram. He wrote, “When Paresh ji said ‘Ayushmaan Bhava’ in the film, I felt as if my father was blessing me. My father always used to say the same thing when I touched his feet. This moment was very personal and emotional for me.”
