Speaking at Ayodhya Deepotsav 2025, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this festival is a symbol of the victory of 500 years of faith and struggle. Today Ayodhya has become the spiritual capital and tourist center of the world with a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram.
Ayodhya, 19 October. Ayodhya is the first among the Saptapuris, where Dharma itself incarnated in human form. Here there is dignity in every particle, compassion in every lamp and Lord Shri Ram resides in every heart. Thousands of years ago, when the world was immersed in darkness, Ayodhya had lit lamps on the arrival of its beloved Lord Shri Ram. This tradition became a great festival of Sanatan Dharma in the form of Diwali.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in the grand Ram coronation ceremony held at Ramkatha Park in Ayodhya Dham on Sunday that when the Deepotsav started in the year 2017, 1,71,000 lamps were lit. Today, on Navam Deepotsav, more than 26 lakh lamps are being lit in Ayodhya Dham alone, while 1 crore 51 lakh lamps are being lit in the entire state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received respect and blessings of saints
During the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored many saints and mahants including Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Ji Maharaj by giving them garlands, body clothes and gifts. On this occasion, many prominent saints, Acharyas and Mahants were present on the stage.
Deepotsav: Symbol of struggle and victory of faith
The Chief Minister said that Deepotsav is not just a festival of lamps, but a symbol of 500 years of struggle and victory of faith. This lamp is a symbol of the sacrifice and determination of those generations who fought continuously for the birthplace of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram.
He said that earlier Lord Shri Ram was seated in a tent, and today in his grand temple. Every lamp gives the message that truth can be troubled, but not defeated. The victory of this truth led to the construction of Ram temple after a struggle of 500 years.
CM Yogi’s attack on Congress and SP
The Chief Minister said that Congress had described Lord Shri Ram as “imaginary” in the court, while Samajwadi Party had opened fire on Ram devotees. He said-
They have installed locks, and we are lighting lamps. They destroyed the identity of Ayodhya, we re-established it.
CM said that these are the same people who have been working to spread division in the society by adopting the policy of “divide and rule” of foreign rulers. But today politics cannot dominate faith.
Ayodhya: Becomes the world center of faith and tourism
Yogi Adityanath said that today Ayodhya has become a global center not only of faith but also of tourism. He told that now every year 6 to 10 crore devotees come to Ayodhya, whereas earlier when a few thousand devotees came, there used to be an atmosphere of chaos and dirt. CM said-
This is the same Ayodhya which has developed as per the resolutions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ayodhya is emerging today as a “global spiritual capital”, where devotees of Sanatan religion from all over the country and abroad are coming to visit.
Prime Minister Modi’s resolve reflected in the development of Ayodhya
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that even after independence in 1947, Ayodhya was neglected, but due to the determination of the devotees, the temple movement continued. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister who laid the foundation stone of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and conducted the installation program of Lord Shri Ram on 22 January 2024. “Today every Sanatani rejoices with pride that the dream of our ancestors has been fulfilled,” he said.
Double engine government working on the concept of Ramrajya
CM Yogi said that the double engine government is realizing the vision of Ramrajya.
No one is poor or sad, no one is innocent or has no symptoms.
He said that today every poor has a house, toilet, gas connection of Ujjwala scheme, health insurance of Rs 5 lakh, free ration, irrigation facility and employment opportunities. CM said-
We are realizing the same vision of Ramrajya where no one remains unhappy, helpless or deprived.
Ayodhya: Symbol of security, development and cultural respect
The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh has now become a state free from hooliganism and ruled by law. He said-
Before 2017, there used to be an atmosphere of fear during festivals, now every festival is celebrated with enthusiasm.
He told that statues of saints, devotees and great men have been installed in Ayodhya. CM said-
Today, the memorial places of Tyagaraja, Purandar Das, Maha Swami Arunachal Kavi, Lata Mangeshkar Memorial, Nishadraj, Mata Shabari, Mata Ahilya and Jatayu have become the identity of this place. This is the same Ayodhya which has become a confluence of development and faith.
