The hoisting of the flag on the peak of Shri Ram temple and the rapid development of the city has surprised the people. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has set a target of developing faith places as economic centres. Ayodhya is becoming the biggest example from this point of view. After the construction of Shri Ram Temple, the number of tourists has increased by 4–5 times. Between January and June 2025, about 23 crore people reached Ramnagari. It is estimated that by the end of the year this number will reach 50 crores.

A large number of foreign tourists are coming to Ayodhya from America, Europe, Russia and many countries. Clean wide roads, cultural artefacts, grand Ram Path and Dharma Path, divine ponds, ancient temples and international level hospitality facilities show the new face of Ayodhya.
Hotels that were previously empty are now 90% full. Even small hotels are earning up to Rs 40-50 thousand daily. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given Ayodhya its old glory and new identity.
Ayodhya’s important contribution to the economy of UP
The development of Ayodhya started at a fast pace from 2020. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, all the departments together gave priority to the development of the city. Roads, drainage system, traffic management, railway station, bus station and international airport were given a world class look.
The increasing number of tourists has also strengthened the city’s economy. Today Ayodhya is contributing about 1.5% to the GSDP of UP. The annual business here is expected to reach Rs 4 lakh crore in the coming years.
Ayodhya will become the powerhouse of one trillion dollar economy
Ayodhya’s international airport is playing an important role in economic development. Now 30 flights are operating here and the airport has an annual capacity of 6 lakh passengers. The railway station has also been made modern and the modernization of bus stands is providing better facilities to the passengers. Today Ayodhya has become the most developed and most visited religious center of Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is determined to make Uttar Pradesh a one trillion dollar economy by 2029, in which Ayodhya’s contribution will be decisive.
