Last month, Sikandar director AR Murugadoss discussed that making the Hindi film was a challenge, especially because he and the team had to wait for star Salman Khan to arrive on set.
The filmmaker had shared that Salman would arrive by 8 pm to the Sikandar set. In a new interview, however, actor Ayaan Lall, who worked on the film with Salman, refuted the director’s claim. Here’s what he had to say.
Ayaan Lall defends Salman Khan against claims by director AR Murugadoss
While speaking to Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Ayaan revealed that he didn’t have to wait long for Salman. He said, “I was called at 3 pm, and by 5:30 pm, sir was there. Listen, he’s a star. He’s the biggest star in this country. He has other things to do. Ab the Punjab floods have come; he has to take care of that also na? He isn’t just an actor. He’s the biggest Bhai of this country. He’s an icon. He isn’t just making a movie for entertainment. He has a lot of people to take care of, and God has sent him for that reason. So, if you have to wait a couple of hours, there’s no big deal.”
Ayaan further responded to Murugadoss’s claim that he had to wait eight hours for the star. He added, “I have seen him call up people and inform them that he won’t be able to come on time. Then don’t wait eight hours no? If someone is telling you that they will reach at 12, then don’t start waiting for them in the morning. He has a lot of things to do; on a daily basis, he touches crores of people. It’s not easy being Salman Khan.”

The actor met up with Salman again when he went on the reality show to support his mother, actress Kunickaa Sadanand, who is a contestant this season. Ayaan had nothing but praise for the star as he also told Siddharth, “I have never seen an angel this close to planet Earth. It’s like God has picked that man and put him here. I don’t have words for Salman sir. Being in his presence, I feel like a special being. He would meet everyone on set, all 300 of them. He’ll shout at you, he’ll scream at you, but in the end, he’ll say, ‘Ghar pe aake khana khana’.”
