PMFBY BRIBERY CASE: Patwari Pantwilal Meena was arrested by ACB for taking a bribe of Rs 95,000, seeking bribe to get a claim of crop loss under the PM Crop Insurance Scheme in Sriganganagar. Patwari had asked for half the money of the claim in the name of ‘expenses water’.

Sriganganagar Patwari Arrest: The Anti -Corruption Bureau (ACB) took a major action on Wednesday and arrested Revenue Patwari Pantwilal Meena of Srikaranpur Tehsil red handed taking a bribe of Rs 95,000. This bribe was sought from the amount of claim found under the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme (PMFBY). The accused had sought this punch from the farmer in the name of tea water.

Farmer gets two and a quarter lakhs for crop failure

According to the ACB, the complainant had complained that in Kharif 2024, his and his wife’s agricultural land was insured on the agricultural land. In case of crop failure, a total claim of Rs 2.28 lakh came from the insurance company. The work of copy cutting associated with this claim was done by Pangwilal Meena in the area. When the accused got information about the claim amount, he told the complainant that this insurance claim has been received with his help, so half the amount of the claim will have to be given in the name of “expenses water”. After the complainant filed a complaint of bribery demand, the ACB took the matter seriously and took action by laying a trap. The team of Sriganganagar ACB outpost took the trap action under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhavan Bhushan Yadav and Additional Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Meena. During this, Deputy Superintendent Police Bhupendra Kumar Soni and the bureau team caught the accused Patwari red handed taking a bribe of Rs 95,000 from the complainant.

Pativari wanted up to 50 percent amount of claim

Additional Director General of ACB, Smita Srivastava said that the accused Patwari is being questioned and further investigation will be done by filing a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act in the case. Initial investigation has also revealed that the accused was constantly taking the complainant under pressure on the amount up to 50 percent.

This is the biggest weapon of farmers

This action of the Anti -Corruption Bureau has sent a message to the farmers and public of the region that bribery in the benefits of government schemes will not be tolerated at any cost. The ACB says that the complaints of the common people against corruption are the biggest weapons and strict action will continue in future also in such cases.
