The automobile industry saw several key launches and updates this week. Manufacturers introduced new models, special editions and fresh colour options across segments. From Honda’s updated Elevate and Skoda’s facelifted Slavia to the launch of the Triumph Bonneville T40, here are the major automotive developments from the week.
Honda Elevate Facelift
Honda has launched the Elevate facelift in India at an introductory price of ₹11.80 lakh. The latest variant receives exterior design changes, additional features and a new top-spec ZX+ variant, which is priced at ₹18.40 lakh for the CVT version. The facelift brings a revised front fascia with three light-bar segments integrated into the grille, giving the SUV a connected-lighting appearance. The front bumper has also been redesigned, while the rear features updated tail lights. The company has also introduced a new Nordic Forest Pearl exterior colour to the variant.
Mercedes-Maybach S 580e
Mercedes-Benz India has rolled out the Mercedes-Maybach S 580e 4MATIC at ₹3.35 crore (ex-showroom). The luxury limousine marks the brand’s first electrified Maybach model in India, with only 30 units allocated initially. Based on the facelifted Maybach S-Class, the S 580e is priced ₹97 lakh higher than the recently launched S-Class Manufaktur Edition AMG Line.
Skoda Slavia Facelift
Skoda Auto India has given the Slavia a facelift, with prices starting at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated sedan gets styling changes, additional features and a new eight-speed torque converter automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre TSI engine. The deliveries for the vehicles are expected to begin next week. The updated Slavia continues with two turbo-petrol engine options. It is offered in six variants: Classic, Classic+, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo.
Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition
Toyota has introduced the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition in India, adding styling enhancements and convenience features. The special edition is available in 4×2 manual and automatic configurations, with prices starting at ₹36.51 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the latest variant are scheduled to open on October 12. The 4×2 manual version is priced at ₹36.51 lakh, while the automatic variant costs ₹38.72 lakh, a difference of ₹2.21 lakh.
Suzuki V-Strom SX
Suzuki has expanded the V-Strom SX colour palette with a new Matte Grey finish. The motorcycle continues to be priced at ₹2.02 lakh (ex-showroom), with no additional cost for the new colour option. Apart from the updated paint scheme, the motorcycle remains unchanged. It continues to use a 249cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 26.5 hp at 9,000 rpm and 22.2 Nm of torque at 7,300 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
MG Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm Editions
MG Motor India has expanded the Hector lineup with two special editions, Blackstorm and Snowstorm, each priced at ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom). Both are available in the five-seat configuration with the 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a CVT automatic transmission. The Blackstorm gets an all-black exterior, dark chrome branding, piano-black roof rails and smoked connected tail lamps. The Snowstorm, meanwhile, features Pearl White paint paired with a Starry Black roof for a contrasting two-tone appearance.
Honda XR300L and XR300 Rally
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has added the XR300L and XR300 Rally to its Indian lineup, with prices starting at ₹1.83 lakh and ₹2.08 lakh. Both motorcycles share the same platform and engine but differ in design and purpose. The XR300L is designed for off-road riding, while the XR300 Rally gets a larger front fairing, a taller windscreen and extra bodywork for better comfort on long rides.
