Josh Hazlewood Ruled Out: Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has also been ruled out of the first Test of the Ashes series. Hazlewood has to be out due to hamstring injury. The Ashes series between Australia and England is starting from 21st November. Australia’s problems have increased a bit due to Hazlewood’s exclusion, because apart from him, the services of Pat Cummins and Shaun Abbott will also not be available in the first Test.
Australia suffered the third such blow
Like Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Shaun Abbott also had to be out due to injury. Cummins is out of the first Ashes test due to his back injury, while Shaun Abbott has suffered a hamstring injury. Simply put, Australia’s three pacers have been ruled out of the Ashes opener due to injury.
Hazlewood out, this player gets a chance
Hazlewood did not even play the Sheffield Shield match against Victoria due to a hamstring injury. After that, he did not even go to Perth with the team, where the first Ashes Test is to be played. Michael Neser has been included in the team in place of Hazlewood.
There is a chance for Brendan Doggett’s debut
With Australia’s third pacer out of action due to injury, Brendon Doggett looks set to make his debut in the Perth Test. There is a possibility that the Australian team may debut Brendan Doggett as the third pacer along with Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland.
This will happen for the third time in 11 years
This will be the third time since 2014 that the Australian team will be seen playing a Test at home without Cummins and Hazlewood. Earlier in 2021, it played home Test against England and in 2022 against West Indies without those two players. The good thing is that Australia won both those tests.
