Audi’s upcoming sports car concept has surfaced online ahead of its scheduled debut at the Munich Motor Show on September 9. The leak occurred when Audi Canada briefly posted an image of the coupé on social media before removing it.
The photograph revealed a low-slung, two-seat model with mid-engine-style proportions and design cues reminiscent of the Audi TT. While technical details remain undisclosed, Audi confirmed that the vehicle is a concept and not yet ready for production.
Audi CEO Gernot Dollner said the model represents a turning point in the brand’s design strategy. He noted that future concepts will be closer to production reality and that all show cars unveiled will eventually lead to road-going versions. The new design direction, led by Massimo Frascella, will emphasise a minimalist approach across Audi’s portfolio.
The brand has already begun teasing the car, releasing material that connects the concept to its past icons, including the TT and Auto Union grand prix cars. Audi has described the project with the phrase: “the legends of yesterday are the blueprint for tomorrow.”
Positioned between the TT and the now-discontinued R8, the new car is confirmed to be fully electric and is expected to share technology with Porsche’s upcoming 718 EV.
