Ather Unveils AtherStack 7 With Pothole Alerts and Crash Detection

New Delhi: During the Bengaluru Community Day 2025 celebration the Ather Energy debuted its new operating system, AtherStack 7, Through over-the-air (OTA) software changes, updates will be made to its e-scooter line, with a primary focus on safety, rider assistance, and convenience features. Some of the most significant modifications include pothole notifications enabled by IMU sensors, proactive alerts, and natural voice commands that advise drivers in advance of certain road hazards.

The update also includes safety-focused features like ParkSafe, which alerts riders if they park in a tow-away zone; LockSafe, which detects theft attempts and notifies the owner; and Crash Alerts, which provide emergency contacts with real-time position information.

Safety features in AtherStacker 7

The new Ather is equipped with pothole alerts, powered by onboard IMU sensors, which provide riders a notification about upcoming potholes directly on the dashboard, along with voice prompts. Ather says the system is designed to make daily commuting safer, especially on unpredictable city roads. Another major safety feature is Crash Alerts, which automatically informs the rider’s emergency contacts of their live location. The system can differentiate between minor and serious accidents, and if the rider is unconscious, the emergency contact details are displayed on the dashboard so that bystanders can step in to help.

Security also gets attention in this update. While LockSafe detects tampering and sends theft alerts, ParkSafe alerts riders if they park in known tow-away zones. If necessary, the scooter can also be remotely immobilised. In order to make city rides more comfortable and less taxing, the new Infinite Cruise feature integrates crawl control, hill control, and cruise control. This builds on features Ather had already introduced, like Magic Twist, Auto Hold, and Traction Control.

The Rizta Z scooter, which now has a touchscreen display, was another revelation. It’s interesting to note that since the hardware was already included in the scooter, current Rizta Z owners will also be able to access this feature via a software update. Along with an upgraded user interface and a new Terracotta Red dual-tone colour option, the Rizta Z also gets a new Eco Mode for increased efficiency. With these upgrades, Ather appears to be concentrating on improving the scooters’ practicality and safety for daily city use in addition to their performance.
