Bengaluru based EV manufacturer Energy, has received approval to sell its electric scooters through the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) portal. Sales are expected to begin from September 2026, allowing eligible Armed Forces personnel to purchase Ather scooters through the platform.
Eight variants from Ather’s 450 and ranges have been listed on the CSD platform, with the excluded. Ather is among the first two electric two-wheeler manufacturers in India to have its products listed on the CSD portal. Armed Forces personnel purchasing an Ather scooter through CSD will also get special discounts offered by the company. These benefits will be available over and above the GST benefits applicable to purchases made through CSD, making the scooters more attractive to eligible buyers.
With eight variants available, Armed Forces personnel will have multiple options to choose from based on their requirements. The CSD listing also marks another step towards making electric two-wheelers more accessible as EV adoption continues to grow across India.
