New Delhi: Senior Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammed Nabi played a blinder in the death overs to lift his team to 169/8 against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup group match in Abu Dhabi. Towards the ending overs, it seemed like Afghanistan would struggle to get past even 120 runs but 40-year-old Nabi had a different plan in his mind.
Nabi, who scored 60 runs off just 22 balls, hammered five sixes in the 20th over being bowled by left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage to lit up the Abu Dhabi cricket stadium. By virtue of his 5 lethal maximums, he collected 32 runs in last six balls swinging the momentum in his team’s favour.
