How much of the income to donate?
According to religious scriptures, one tenth of the money earned honestly should be donated. This is a duty, doing which pleases God.
Nyayopaarjitvittasya dasmoshen dheematah.
Duties Viniyogasch Ishwarpreetyarthmev Ch ॥
Meaning- One tenth of the wealth earned through justice should be donated to a wise person.

Who should not donate?
It is also mentioned in the religious scriptures who should donate and who should not? According to him, only those who are rich in wealth are entitled to donate. For those who are poor and support their families with great difficulty, it is not necessary to donate. Who should donate?

How many types of donations are there?
daily donation- This donation is given in the spirit of charity and without any desire for any reward.
Casual donation- This charity is placed in the hands of learned Brahmins for the atonement of their sins.
Kamya Daan- This donation is given with the desire to attain children, victory, happiness, prosperity and heaven.
Vimal Daan- The donation which is given for the pleasure of God.
