On January 27, Cha Eunwoo’s video from The Day We Talk About The Military was either removed or made private as the video was uploaded on KFN Plus YouTube channel which runs by the Korea Defense Communication Service. The video was part of the popular series The Day We Talk About the Military, where Eunwoo was seen in his military uniform. He shared heartfelt stories about war heroes who stepped in to help orphaned children during times of conflict. When it was released, the video struck an emotional chord with viewers, earning widespread praise for shedding light on lesser-known chapters of Korea’s history.

What’s the case all about?

On January 22, reports surfaced that Eun-Woo is allegedly involved in a tax evasion amounting to over 20 billion KRW (about $13.7 million). This was believed to be one of the largest additional tax assessments, including income tax ever imposed on a Korean celebrity. While he was under investigation by the National Tax Service, the report further stated that the assessment is reportedly part of a tax audit conducted in July last year, days before he enlisted for his mandatory military service.
