What is the name of the first day of the week and what is the name of the second day? Its secret is hidden in a verse of Atharvaveda. According to a verse of Atharva Veda-
Aditya: Somo Bhaumascha and Mercury Brihaspati.
Bhargava: शनाइस्चरश्चैव एते सप्त दिनाधिपः।
Meaning- Aditya, Somo, Bhaum, Budh, Brihaspati, Bhargava and Shanaishchar are the seven days of the week. On the basis of this verse our scholars have decided the names of the days of the week.

In the above mentioned verse, Aditya means Sun, Vaar means Sunday, Somo means Moon i.e. Monday, Bhaum means Mars i.e. Tuesday, after Mercury is Jupiter i.e. Thursday, Bhargava means Friday made from Venus and lastly Shaneschar i.e. Saturday. In this way, our ancestors had already decided the names of the seven days of the week in a single verse.
Why only Tuesday after Monday?
According to astrology, there are 24 horas in a day i.e. 24 hours. Every hora is influenced by a particular planet. The day is named on the basis of the lord of the first Hora of the day, just as the lord of the first Hora of Sunday is the Sun, similarly the lord of the first Hora of Monday is the Moon and the lord of the first Hora of Tuesday is Mars. This is how the days of the week have been named.
The order of blows is written in Navagraha Mantra
There is a mantra written in religious texts for the peace of Navagraha. In this too, the sequence of attacks seems clear – Brahma Murari Tripurantkari, Bhanu (Sun) Shashi (Moon) Bhumi Suto (Mars) Budhashcha (Mercury), Gurushcha (Guru) Venus Shani Rahu Ketav, Sarve Graha Shanti Kara Bhavantu.
