Just before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Namrup in Assam, local officials forcibly threw stones into the ripe paddy field of an elderly woman to prepare a public meeting place. There is a lot of anger among the people due to this incident. Actually, Prime Minister Modi is going to arrive in Namrup on 21 December 2025 to lay the foundation stone of a new ammonia-urea plant. A public meeting venue is being prepared for this programme, for which the woman’s farm was reportedly used.

According to reports, officials dumped stones and sand on the ripe paddy crops of local farmers, destroying their crops. On this, an elderly woman, whose crop was ruined, expressed her anger to the officials. In the viral video, she asks the officers, are you people or monsters? Since this incident, people have been accusing the administration of crushing the livelihood of farmers for making cosmetic preparations. Not only this, people have also demanded compensation from the state government for the damage caused to the crops of the farmers.
