Assam: Student Preparing for JEE Found Dead in Guwahati; Police Suspect Suicide

GUWAHATI: In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old student was reportedly found dead in the Manik Nagar area of Guwahati, Assam, on Thursday evening.

As per reports, the deceased was identified as Sandip Koiri. The incident is suspected to be a case of .

The deceased, a resident of Biswanath Chariali, was reportedly preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which was scheduled to begin on Friday. He was attending coaching classes at a private institute in the city.

Police personnel arrived at the scene and have initiated an investigation into the matter. Police said that they are investigating the incident from all angles.

In another similar incident, a 22-year-old woman was found dead in her rented apartment in the Pub Sarania area of Guwahati. The deceased has been identified as Esha Bharali, who worked as a pharmaceutical professional and was a resident of Biswanath Chariali.

The cause of her death is suspected to be suicide. She shared the rented apartment with her friend, who was away during the time of the incident. The reason for her death is still being investigated by the police.

Meanwhile, a Class VI student was found hanging from a tree earlier in January in Assam’s West Karbi Anglong, in what is suspected to be a case of suicide. The deceased minor was a boarder at the Holy Child Home Academy hostel.
