And a more attractive thing to do is, one can enjoy the views of Numaligarh ruins and lush plantations from the altitude, as well as tour the world-famous Kaziranga National Park. The best time to visit it is from October to April. To get there, you need to trek around 4 km from Naharjan village.
2. Bhelughat Falls
Situated 30 km from Diphu, the headquarters of Karbi Anglong district, this waterfall is surrounded by dense forests, comparatively unaffected by commercialisation, and it’s rich in biodiversity. The best time to tour this spot is the post-monsoon season which is October to February. To get there, you have to reach Diphu by train or bus from Guwahati, then hire a local cab.

5. Akashiganga Waterfalls
This waterfall, in Hojai district, is a place of spiritual significance as it’s linked with the legend of Sati. It is believed that a part of her body fell here, making it a Shakti Peeth. The cascading water, coupled with the calm and spiritual ambience, makes Akashiganga a must-visit waterfall. The fall is about 50 km from Tezpur and 100 km from Kaziranga. The best time to visit is the post-monsoon and winter seasons (October to February). Once you reach here, you can visit the nearby Malini Than, a temple dedicated to Goddess Durga, explore the Nagaon district for its rich cultural heritage and wildlife sanctuaries, and take a boat ride on the nearby Kolong River.
