During the interaction, Asif attempted to explain the context behind his statement, but Salman made it clear that he did not agree with the way the remark had been expressed. The host reminded Asif that masculinity should not be judged by physical appearance or facial hair.
Salman Khan Challenges Asif’s View on Masculinity
The discussion began when Asif referred to an earlier conversation about his moustache. He explained that he had said moustaches were traditionally regarded as a sign of masculinity. Salman responded by directly challenging that idea, telling Asif that being a man is not determined by having a moustache but by what a person carries in his heart.
The exchange became one of the notable moments of the episode as Salman continued to question Asif’s choice of words. Rather than allowing the matter to pass without comment, the host used the conversation to point out the difference between personal appearance and a person’s character.
Asif Explains What Led to His Remark
Asif then tried to clarify that his statement had been made in response to another comment inside the house. According to him, the conversation had started when Gullu referred to his moustache and called him “Muchhad Ji Asif Khan.”

Salman Says He Has Seen Many Contestants Like Asif
Even after Asif offered his explanation, Salman remained firm. Drawing on his long association with the reality show, he told Asif that he had been hosting Bigg Boss for 17 years and had seen many contestants come and go.

Gauahar Khan Had Earlier Questioned Asif’s Comment
The controversy had also attracted a response from former Bigg Boss winner Gauahar Khan. She criticised Asif’s remarks and questioned why an actor with a successful career would make comments that, in her view, reflected narrow thinking.
Gauahar also referred to Asif’s reaction during a separate discussion involving Uditi and said she was disappointed by what she had seen. She argued that a man’s identity should be reflected through his behaviour and outlook rather than his moustache or physical appearance.
The issue has therefore become another talking point from the latest Weekend Ka Vaar, with Salman’s intervention putting the focus back on the way contestants express their views and respond to criticism inside the Bigg Boss house.
