Indian para shooter Shrishti Arora clinched the bronze medal in the P2 – Women’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 event at the ongoing Asian Para Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
She registered a score of 214.7 points in her debut campaign.
Hailing from Ajmer, Rajasthan, she was born without her right-hand palm. She entered para pistol shooting in 2023 after being introduced to the sport by Kanhaiya Gurjar.
Since then, she has made remarkable progress, moving from her first National Championship in 2023 to winning medals at major international competitions.
Her breakthrough came in 2025 when she enjoyed an impressive run at the World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) World Cups. At the Changwon World Cup in South Korea, she won gold in the P6 Mixed Team event, gold in the P2 Women’s Team event alongside World and Asian records, and silver in the P2 individual competition.
She continued her strong performances at the Al Ain World Cup, winning gold medals in both the P6 Mixed Team and P2 Team events. In 2026, she added another international achievement by securing bronze in the P6 event at the WSPS World Championships in South Korea.
Her rise has also been recognised at the national level. Shrishti was crowned Para National Champion in 2025 and was honoured by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan during the state’s Independence Day celebrations.
Based at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi, she trains under coach Pavittar. Her preparation for the Asian Para Games cycle included strong performances at international competitions in Al Ain and Changwon, where she recorded scores of 560 and 564 respectively in the P2 event.
Shrishti’s bronze medal in Aichi-Nagoya represents another landmark in a career that has advanced rapidly over the past three years. Her journey reflects the determination required to compete at the highest level and highlights the growing depth of India’s para shooting contingent on the international stage.
