India opened their account in the track and field events of the 20th Asian Games with Seema clinching a landmark bronze medal for the country in women’s 10,000M final.
Seema finished with a time of 32:50.05.
Seema’a achievement carries more weight as it is India’s first media in the event after 16 years, a remarkable feat after overcoming an intense duel.
This is only the third ever medal for India at this event in the continental games.
