Asia Cup 2025 Points Table: A dominant effort from the current T20 world champions proved too good for UAE as India outclassed their opponents in a nine-wicket win on their home soil on Wednesday in match number 2 of the Asia Cup 2025. With a paltry 58 runs to chase, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side made light work as they chased down the target in just 27 balls.
A wicket-hungry Kuldeep Yadav was the enforcer-in-chief with his terrific spin bowling which was too hot too handle for a team like UAE. Kuldeep Yadav (4/7) and a fine spell from Shivam Dube (3/7) bundled out the UAE for a meagre 57 runs in 13.1 overs, with openers Alishan Sharafu (22) and skipper Muhammed Waseem (19) being the only ones to touch double figures.
Abhishek Sharma started his innings off with a six and even ended it with an effort to hit one over mid-on but mistimed one in the air before his departure after an entertaining cameo. Vice-captain Shubman Gill and captain Suryakumar ended UAE’s misery early enabling India to chase down the total in just 4.3 overs.
After this clinical win, India command the points table with two important points and a net run-rate of 10.483.

Wanted To See How Wicket Was Playing: Suryakumar Yadav
India captain Suryakumar Yadav was full of praise for the effort put in by everyone on his side in a clinical win.
“Wanted to see how the wicket was playing (after electing to bowl first), it was the same in the second innings as well. Clinical performance from the boys. Wanted good energy and attitude in the field and that carried over into the batting.”
“Recently, a lot of boys were here during the Champions Trophy. It (the pitch) looked good but it looked on the slower side. It is very hot here, so thought spinners might have a bit more dominance, but nice support shown by Hardik, Bumrah and Dube.”
