New Delhi: Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, who has played just a single match in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, made headlines for his fiery response to Pakistan bowler Haris Rauf’s celebration during the India vs Pakistan Super 4 clash. India thrashed arch-rivals Pakistan by 6 wickets for the second time in the continental tournament on Sunday.
The gesture made by Arshdeep was a response to Rauf’s fighter-jet celebration which had come from the Pakistan pacer earlier in the game. While Rauf had made the gesture towards the Indian team and supporters in the tense clash, Arshdeep’ s quick response highlighted the ongoing tensions between the two Asian side.
Pakistan batter Sahibzada Farhan had added to the dram when he pointed out his bat like a gun and started firing after reaching his half-century in the first innings of the Super 4 clash.

Heated atmosphere between arch-rivals
In both the matches the Asian neighbours have met, heated atmosphere has been witnessed which has been the aftermath of the bigger geopolitical issue which has been existing between India and Pakistan since April 26 Pahalgam terror attack. In the deadly attack, 26 people were killed in the tourist destination of Jammu and Kashmir which was followed by India executing Operation Sindoor which destroyed numerous terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
Meanwhile, India have been excellent in the continental cup winning four our of their four matches while Pakistan have suffered two defeats against the arch-foes. The Men in Green lock horns with Sri Lanka in the Super 4 clash on Tuesday which will be a do or die encounter for both the sides.
