Ashok Kharat, a resident of Sinnar in Nashik district, calls himself a numerologist and astrologer. He was arrested on March 17 when a woman accused Kharat of raping her several times after giving her intoxicants in the name of a religious ritual. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed for the investigation has revealed that Kharat has sexually exploited more than 150 women under the guise of spirituality. Even after the name of former Maharashtra State Women Commission chairperson Rupali Chakankar surfaced in this case, there was a lot of uproar.
