England Players Clash PtiImage Credit source: PTI
The tour of Australia for the England cricket team has not yet gone as per plan. The team has suffered a crushing defeat in the first two matches of the Ashes series. Ben Stokes’ team has already lagged 0-2 in the series and is under pressure to make a comeback. But not only inside the field, but also outside the field, the English team is in the headlines. This time the reason for this has been the conflict with the Australian media at the airport. The England team, going from Brisbane to Adelaide for the third Test match, came into limelight for the wrong reasons as the team’s security staff clashed with the Australian media.
The English team was on a break since the defeat in the second match of the Ashes series in Brisbane. After this break was over, on Saturday 13 December, the entire team, support staff and other members left from Brisbane for Adelaide, where the third match of the series is to be played from 17 December. But during the journey from Brisbane to Adelaide, the team’s security staff had an altercation with the media twice.
Security staff clash with media persons
Australian Channel 7 News posted a video on social media and claimed that when their team was recording video of England players entering Brisbane Airport, a member of their security team yanked the camera and then there was a heated argument between the two. It is seen in the video that the camera team of 7 News got very close to the players, due to which the security staff turned their cameras in the other direction.
There was a conflict in Adelaide also
But the matter did not stop here. As soon as the team reached Adelaide, a similar incident happened again. This time a local media person also tried to go close to the players and record the video but at first Ben Stokes ignored him and then the security team intervened and removed him from there. However, this is not the first case when a touring team has clashed with the Australian media. Exactly a year ago, there was a clash in Melbourne between Team India’s star batsman Virat Kohli and a media team of 7 News.
