Army destroyed 11 airbases of Pakistan in Operation Sindoor: DGMO. Operation Sindoor Indian Army Destroyed 11 Pakistani Air Bases Says DGMO

DGMO Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai said that during Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army had destroyed 11 airbases of Pakistan. The Indian Army had also destroyed a C-130 class aircraft, an Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft and at least four to five fighter jets.

Operation Sindoor: Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai on Tuesday said Pakistan’s efforts to respond to Operation Sindoor were a “complete failure” even as the Indian Army in retaliation destroyed 11 Pakistani airbases, including three hangars and four radars.

Addressing the Conference of Heads of United Nations Military Contributing Countries (UNTCC) in New Delhi, the DGMO said the Indian Army had also destroyed a C-130 class aircraft, an Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft and at least four to five fighter jets. Pakistani drones were launched after the DGMOs of both sides had talked to each other. Lieutenant General said,

We know for sure that 1 C-130 class aircraft and 1 AEW, 4-5 fighter jets and of course, some assets in the air were destroyed. We now know that the world’s longest ground-to-air kill range of over 300km and 5 high-tech fighters are also involved. I think the fearless manner in which these attacks were carried out matters a lot.

Pakistani attempts to attack failed

Talking about the failure of Pakistani attempts to attack after Operation Sindoor, Lt Gen Ghai credited India’s strong air defense system which allowed the drones to be shot down and the Pakistani action foiled. He said, “Some of those encounters, counter actions, rockets, drones, I think everything failed completely. I think the major reason for this was our very strong integrated air defence. Various types of drones were used in an attempt to cause damage to people and material, but everything failed miserably.”

After Pakistan launched drones into the Indian territory, the Indian side also swung into action and the Air Force launched an operation on the night of 8 and 9 May. “After that, obviously, we brought the Indian Air Force into action and they carried out precision strikes on the night of May 9 and 10. We attacked 11 of their airbases and recently I think the Air Force chief has talked about this. If you see, eight airbases, three hangars and four radars were damaged. Pakistani air assets were on the ground,” he said.

Indian Navy had landed in the Arabian Sea

The DGMO revealed that the Indian Navy had also entered the Arabian Sea and was prepared to respond if the Pakistani side decided to escalate it further. He said, “The Indian Navy was also in full action and this is probably a fact that not many people know, but the Navy had already landed in the Arabian Sea. When the DGMO spoke they were in a very good position and if the enemy had decided to take it further it could have been disastrous for them not only from the sea but also from other dimensions.”
