Brands like Bisleri, Kinley are not ‘mineral water’ but ‘packaged drinking water’. Packaged water is purified and mixed with minerals, whereas true mineral water comes from natural sources. Be sure to read the label before purchasing.
New Delhi: We generally call any water bottle available in the market as ‘mineral water’. But, famous food influencer Revanth Himatsinka (Food Pharmer) has recently shared such information, which has proved our belief wrong. He has revealed that the Bisleri, Kinley or Aquafina that we drink every day is not the real mineral water.
What is packaged drinking water? Packaged Drinking Water
Wherever we go, we buy bottles like Bisleri, Kinley, Aquafina, Clear and Rail Neer to drink. All these come under the category of ‘packaged drinking water’. Their source is usually borewell, ground water or municipal water. This water is purified through processes like RO, UV or ozonization. After cleaning, minerals are added to it separately.
What is natural mineral water? (Natural Mineral Water)
Whereas, some brands like Vedika, Evian, Voss, Himalayan and Aava are genuine natural mineral water. The source of this water is natural springs or underground sources. The most important thing is that this water is not cleaned through any chemical process. Minerals are naturally present in it.
Which is better for health?
From a health point of view, both types of water are safe to drink. But, water with natural minerals is considered purer. According to Revanth Himatsinka, a bigger problem than the quality of water here is the waste generated from these plastic bottles. He has also told that drinking water in plastic bottles is not good for health.
Revanth is spreading awareness about food items through the ‘Label Padhega India’ campaign. He has appealed to the people to read and understand the labels on water bottles from now on. Next time you buy a water bottle, check once whether it is ‘mineral water’ or ‘packaged water’.
